Ward Aquafarms is a 10 acre, 1,000 cage aquaculture farm located in Megansett Harbor, North Falmouth, MA.
The farm has been operational since the summer of 2012 and currently commercially grows oysters, bay scallops, quahogs, and sugar kelp. Learn more about the farm.
The majority of the farm is dedicated to growing Eastern Oysters. Whether you prefer stuffed, straight up or rockefeller, you'll love Fiddler's Cove Oysters.
Also known as Hard Clams, Quahogs are used in lots of your favorite East Coast seafood dishes, such as clam chowder, clam cakes and stuffed clams.
Our most recent venture has us cultivating Atlantic Bay Scallops. The sea scallop's smaller, sweeter cousin, they are great fried, pan seared, stewed—even raw!
The second project we took on at the farm was our Sugar Kelp grow-out. Not only is Sugar Kelp delicious, it has many positive effects on the ecosystem as well.
From aquaculture coatings to bay scallops and harmful algae, Ward Aquafarms is continuously expanding upon and sharing our aquaculture farming research.
We've partnered with HereLab and Verizon to equip the farm with sensors that monitor safety, predict growth and allow us to increase productivity and survival.
